Workshop Overview

This workshop aims to develop, or update, learner’s knowledge and understanding of the common causes of knee pain enabling them to safely adapt exercise or support clients returning to activity following an injury.

This workshop is delivered by an osteopath who will help you identify common symptoms and the associated reasons for these symptoms to enable you to adapt your sessions safely and effectively whilst also developing your understanding of when it would be best to refer.

The workshop aims to:

  • Refresh your knowledge on the anatomy of the knee joint
  • Learn common causes of knee pain
  • Look at functional examination techniques to assess knee function
  • Explore advice you can provide for injury prevention and rehabilitation (incl. Osgood Schlatter, ACL & PCL injury)
  • Learn therapy techniques and exercises to speed up the healing process
  • Learn useful taping techniques

 

Who is this seminar for?

This seminar is suitable for fitness professionals that work with clients that experience knee problems/pains. The training requires level 3 anatomy knowledge prior to completion.

Pre-requisites

Candidates must be qualified as L3 Personal Trainers, Pilates or hold a L3 equivalent qualification. If you are not a L3 Instructor but would like to use this seminar for knowledge development you must ensure you remain in line with professional industry standards and insurance policies and not practice information outside of your qualification boundaries. It is advisable to complete the appropriate pre-requisite.

What is involved in this training?

You are required to watch a short series of video presentations, take notes and practically participate in the activities using a family member or friend to further develop your understanding.
You will then answer a multiple choice knowledge check to evaluate the learning process and check understanding.

Length of the Workshop

This training will take approximately 2 hours to complete.

Assessment

There are no formal assessments for this workshop. However, you will be asked to complete a short multiple choice questionnaire knowledge check to evaluate the learning process.
